Lawrence Public Schools and the Office of Student Support Services are committed to strengthening collaboration between families and schools to ensure every student with a disability receives the support they need to succeed.
In accordance with Massachusetts state law (603 CMR 28.07(4)), each public school district must have a Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). The SEPAC is a parent-led group that works in partnership with the district to:

Provide input on special education programs and services;

Promote understanding, respect, and communication between families and schools; and
Offer workshops and resources to help families navigate the special education process.
LPS is now working to form our SEPAC, and we invite parents and guardians of students with IEPs to participate in this important effort.
