Civics Day Created Real Legislation
During the Civics Day presentations at LHS Campus today, Mayor Brian A De Peña signed two ordinances into effect. Both were initiated by student projects as part of the Civics curriculum. Well done students, hard work really making a difference in Lawrence!

Carnival of Learning at Spark 2024
Spark Academy 7th & 8th graders participated in hands-on activities at the Carnival of Learning presented with Gear Up. The students learned about educational and career related opportunities open to them in future by speaking with local representatives from non-profits and higher education institutions.

Ecotarium Trip for Guilmette
Grade 2 students from the Guilmette Complex thoroughly enjoyed their field trip to the EcoTarium in Worcester! This indoor/outdoor learning experience took students through various living habitats for various aspects of nature. Our second graders loved this experience!

Unified Arts Family Night at Wetherbee 2024
Wetherbee families participated in a recent Unified Arts Family Night Showcase hosted by the Specials teachers. They watched musical and theater performances, investigated with Science experiments, got moving with Physical Education, created art and had a chance to win a specials themed raffle prize. Fun night for all!

Laughing while tying a tie, participants at the Merrimack Valley Transition Fair share important information and resources with families of students with special needs as they plan to transition from High School to next steps. Students from the Performing and Visual Arts department brought some lunchtime entertainment to the alley East of Central Office earlier today. Dancers, musical medleys from Tarzan and instrumental performances gave the crowd a great show.

Special Olympics and Unified Games 2024
Students from around the District came out to complete and enjoy the day at the recent Special Olympics. Younger students participated at the South Lawrence East while Middle and High School students competed at the Veterans' Memorial Stadium. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this day possible.
